The compressor sound should be a humming noise from the compressor every now and then. This is when the appliance needs to get to the correct temperature and is expected. If you still believe it is too loud, check the following:

  • Ensure there is clearance around the appliance.
  • Check the appliance is cooling correctly.

If appliance isn't cooling, try the following:

  • Ensure there is the correct clearance around the appliance. This will be stated in your user manual.
  • Ensure it is located in an area of a similar temperature between 10-32 degrees.
  • Check that the door is closing properly and there is no debris in the seals.
  • Avoid over-filling the appliance and ensure nothing is touching the back.
  • Check that the fridge is on a setting between 3 and 4.
  • Keep the appliance away from any heat sources.
  • Check the power is coming on correctly and, if necessary, try an alternative mains socket and fuse.

If the appliance isn’t level, try the following:

  • Ensure the adjustable feet are set and tight. They can be screwed and unscrewed. You can find more instructions on this in the user manual.
  • Ensure the flooring is level.
  • The front of the appliance will be elevated slightly more than the back, allowing any water to run down the drain hole.

If there is a smell coming from the appliance, try the following:

  • Check the door seals and ensure they are clean.
  • Empty and wipe out the drip tray at the back of the appliance above the compressor tank.
  • Turn the appliance off, clean the inside with warm water and white vinegar. If necessary, leave a lemon inside the appliance for a few hours to help remove any smells.
  • Check food has not leaked anywhere and keep on top of food maintenance.
