FAQs

No, the appliance does not run from the mains. Make sure that the appliance is fully charged before you start using it.

It is normal to receive a two-pin plug for a bathroom product (shavers, trimmers and toothbrushes), as this is the standard plug used for charging from your bathroom shaver electrical socket. If you do not have this electrical socket in your bathroom, you can buy a simple two-pin to three-pin adapter separately.

To maintain the performance of the rechargeable batteries you should recharge the appliance only when the batteries are nearly empty.

This appliance can be used to trim and shave hair '‘below the neck line'’. Do not use it for any other purpose. This is because the bodygroom is specifically designed to prevent skin damage, especially on sensitive skin areas such as underarms and the pubic zone. The cutters, foil and even the comb are specifically designed for safety. This also implies that the Bodygroom will not shave as close as a regular facial shaver. If you use a Bodygroom to shave your face, you may experience reduced performance or skin damage.

In order to get the best results from your shaver make sure that you cut any long hairs with the trimmers first. Make sure that the foil is always in contact with the skin and do not move the shaver too fast over the skin. If you have been using the shaving head for over 12 months and depending on the thickness of your stubble and amount of use it may be that your shaver head is worn out. Try replacing the shaving foil unit, as it may be worn or damaged. The replacement code is: TT2000. If you are used to shaving wet, try shaving dry. This appliance is designed for shaving hairs below the neck line. It is not designed for shaving facial hair.

If the appliance does not charge, please try the following:

  • Check if you have unfolded the charging stand completely.
  • Check if you have placed the groomer in the charging stand correctly.
  • Check if the charging light lights up.

Make sure you charge the groomer long enough: The charging time depends on the serial number. Serial numbers 1152 and higher have a charging time of 1 hour. Serial numbers 1151 and lower have a charging time of 8 hours. You can find the serial number underneath the shaving unit.

Replace the shaving unit:

  • Every year for optimal shaving results.
  • When the shaving performance seems to get worse, even though your appliance is fully charged.

As your power plug is equipped with an automatic voltage selector, it will automatically adjust to the right voltage.

When the appliance is charging, the charging light or battery symbol flashes. When the battery is fully charged, the charging light or battery symbol lights up continuously. To save energy, the charging light or battery symbol goes out after approx 30 minutes. To check if the appliance is in energy-saving mode, please try the following:

  • Remove the small plug of the cord from the appliance, or remove the appliance from the charging stand.
  • Insert the small plug of the cord into the shaver again, or place the appliance back in the charging stand.
  • The charging light or battery symbol should light up for 30 minutes before going out again.

If the charging light still does not work, please contact Philips Consumer Support. You can do this by calling 02079 490 240.

Replace the shaving foil, it may be worn or damaged.
