FAQs

If your pod coffee machine is not brewing or no coffee is coming out, check the following:

  • Ensure the pod coffee machine is plugged in at the mains and switched on.
  • Ensure the water tank is filled but does not exceed the MAX level.
  • Check that the pod has been correctly inserted and the lid is closed.
  • Ensure a new pod has been fitted as pods can only be used once.
  • Ensure a new pod has been used, as trying to reuse an old pod can produce poor water flow.
  • Weak water flow is a symptom that descaling may be required. Check your pod coffee machine manual for the descaling scale instructions and what descaling solution to use.

If your pod coffee machine is leaking, check the following:

  • Check for any physical damage to the water tank.
  • Ensure the water tank is correctly seated and has not been overfilled.
  • Remove and check for any filters in your machine, as they may have become clogged, blocking the flow of water.
  • Check that the pod is not cracked.

If the coffee come out of the pod coffee machine is cold, check the following:

  • Many pod coffee machines have different temperature settings. If applicable check the instruction manual to ensure the correct temperature setting has been selected.
  • Your pod coffee machine may require time to heat up the water before it’s ready to make coffee. Check the instruction manual for the suggested time that’s required to preheat the water.
  • If the coffee pod is not recognised, ensure that you are using a manufacturers official pod, as the pods are made to perfectly fit into the pod coffee machine.

The method to descale your coffee machine may vary between models. We always recommend checking your products user manual for specific instructions.

A safe and simple home remedy for descaling a pod coffee machine is to use a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. Run a complete water tank full of solution through your coffee machine, repeat this process if necessary. Finally run a full water tank of clean water through the machine, before refilling for use.
