If the pole saw will not start, check the following: 

  • Ensure the battery is fully charged.
  • Check that the battery has been correctly fitted.
  • Clean the battery terminals with a dry non abrasive cloth.
  • Ensure the lock-off button has been pressed before pulling the trigger.

If the motor runs, but the chain does not move, check the following: 

Before carrying out any maintenance on the pole saw, remove the battery.

  • If fitted, disengage the chain brake. 
  • Adjust chain tension so it can be moved freely by hand (check the instruction manual for this procedure). 
  • Check that the chain is correctly fitted (check the instruction manual for this procedure). 

If the pole saw cuts poorly or vibrates excessively, check the following: 

Before carrying out any maintenance on the pole saw, remove the battery.

  • The chain could be dull, sharpen or replace the chain. 
  • Check the chain tension and adjust if required. 
  • Check that the chain has been fitted correctly.

If the chain keeps coming off the guide bar, check the following:

  • Turn off the pole saw and remove the battery, check that there is oil on the reservoir, fill with the approved oil if required. 
  • Check that the oil filler cap is not blocked. 
  • Check that the oil outlet is not blocked.
