Step 1:
- Check riders weight & riding conditions.
- Do not exceed the weight limit, go up a steep hill or attempt to tow objects. It is best to avoid these conditions at all times.
Step 2:
- Remove battery/motor cover to check for loose connection(s) and/or wire(s).
- If connection(s) are loose, reconnect them.
- If there are no loose connection(s) or wire(s) touching, then replace control module
Make sure the power is Off, the charger is removed from the bike, remove the chain guard. Inspect the chain to ensure it is on the Motor sprocket.
- Check rider's weight & riding conditions, do not exceed the weight limit, go up a steep hill or attempt to tow objects. It is best to avoid these conditions at all times.
- Check the air pressure in front and rear tires, if pressure is low, inflate tires to recommended PSI (located on the tire sidewall)
- Check chain tension. If the chain is too tight, refer to pg 9 in the owner’s manual.
- Check brake cable. If the brake lever feels stiff when squeezed, then the cable is too tight. Squeeze the brake lever firmly several times to loosen up the brake cable.
- Make sure the charger is plugged into the charger port correctly & indicator lights are working properly. If the charger is not plugged into the charger port correctly, then make sure to plug the charger into the charger port correctly and charger for 8 hours (refer to page 3 in the Owner’s Manual.)
- Secure the unit; turn the power on & with NO weight on the unit, lift the back end up & apply the throttle. If the rear wheel spins freely, replace the battery.
If the rear wheel barely moves, try the following:
- Lift rear end up & manually spin rear wheel forward. Should spin 3-4 times with no resistance.
- If wheel does not spin freely, replace the rear wheel.
If the unit has shut off whilst in use, try the following:
- Remove the battery/motor cover & check the fuse located next to the battery.
- If the fuse is burnt out, replace the fuse.
- After replacing a fuse, ensure you are riding in the correct riding conditions (refer to pg 8 in owner’s manual).
- Remove the battery/motor cover to check for loose connection(s).
- If connections are loose, reconnect them.
- Turn power off & manually turn gear on motor shaft with your fingers.
- If gear does not turn freely, replace motor.
