To prevent any floor markings or scratches you can consider the following:
- Putting a non-slip rug or runner underneath the furniture.
- Sticking furniture pads on the underside of the feet. You can view our furniture pads here.
You can prevent damage and increase the lifespan of your furniture by doing the following:
- Don't overload furniture: Every piece of furniture has a weight limit. Make sure you know the weight limit of your furniture and avoid placing heavy items on it that may exceed this limit.
- Avoid placing furniture on uneven surfaces: Uneven surfaces can put stress on furniture joints and cause them to weaken over time. Make sure your furniture is placed on a level surface.
- Check furniture joints regularly: Over time, furniture joints can loosen and become weak. Check the joints on your furniture regularly and tighten any loose screws or bolts.
- Avoid dragging furniture: Dragging furniture can damage the legs and joints, causing them to weaken over time. Instead, lift furniture and move it carefully.
- Don't lean on furniture: Leaning on furniture can cause areas to weaken and eventually collapse. Use the furniture as intended, and avoid putting excess weight or pressure on any one area.
If your furniture feels like it is sinking, it could be due to the way it is positioned. Try the following:
- Add furniture coasters or furniture pads: These are small, durable pads that can be placed under the legs or base of furniture to distribute weight and prevent sinking. They come in a variety of materials, including rubber, felt, and plastic.
- Use furniture risers: These are blocks that can be placed under the legs of furniture to elevate it off the ground. This can prevent sinking and also make it easier to get in and out of chairs and sofas.
- Reinforce the furniture: If your furniture is sinking due to weak or damaged supports, reinforcing them can help. This may involve adding additional support beams, replacing damaged parts, or tightening screws and bolts.
- Move the furniture: If your furniture is sinking on a soft surface like a carpet or a rug, moving it to a harder surface like tile or hardwood flooring may solve the problem.
- Clean regularly: Regular cleaning is essential to keep furniture looking good and to prevent damage from dirt, dust, and spills. Follow cleaning guidance from the instruction manual and avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Protect from direct sunlight: Exposure to direct sunlight can cause furniture to fade, crack, or warp over time. Keep furniture away from windows or use curtains or blinds to limit the amount of sunlight that reaches it.
- Use coasters and placemats: Coasters and placemats can help protect furniture surfaces from scratches, spills, and heat damage. Use them under glasses, plates, and hot dishes to prevent damage to the surface of the furniture.
- Avoid extreme temperatures: Extreme temperatures can cause furniture to warp, crack, or fade. Keep furniture away from sources of heat, such as radiators or fireplaces, and avoid placing it in areas that are too hot or too cold.
- Keep furniture dry: Moisture can cause furniture to warp, rot, or develop mould. Keep furniture dry by wiping up spills immediately and avoiding placing in damp areas.
- Inspect furniture regularly: Check your furniture regularly for signs of wear and tear, loose joints, or other damage. Address any issues as soon as possible to prevent them from getting worse.
If the sofa seems distressed or compressed we recommend replumping the cushions using the method below.
- Lift the sofa and lay it gently on its back onto a clean surface.
- Feet and hardware are located inside the bottom of the sofa, open the zipper to access the package.
- Place the plastic washer on the thread of the feet and then insert it into the base of the sofa by turning the leg clockwise by hand until tight.
- Apply self-adhesive felt pads to the bottom of each leg.
- Lift the sofa upright and place in the desired location, avoid using the feet as a lever to prevent breaking them.
During the first three months of use the polyurethane foam padding used in the seats tends to become softer and then finally stabilizes itself. This process is absolutely natural as when pressure is applied on the seating the micro-cells that comprise the polyurethane break down. This process is perfectly normal for this kind of material and produces a slight softening effect. As above, it is absolutely normal that the softness of a seat / back padding is found to be different from the one adjacent, depending on its usage. Light creases may form on the covering following the above-mentioned natural setting of the padding, which are to be considered absolutely normal and depend on the settling of the upholstery. A correct care and regular maintenance will help to reduce the creases. After you have used the product, dress the covering back into place as shown in the images below. Avoid collecting the creases in the middle of the seat cushions
Condition the leather roughly every 3-6 months to maintain moisture and prevent the leather from drying out. Use a conditioner suited to your leather type. Avoid positioning the furniture in direct sunlight or near a heat source.
If you spill something on your leather furniture, grab a dry cloth and blot the area immediately. Rubbing will only push the stain deeper into the leather, making it harder to remove.
For light stains, a mixture of mild soap and water can work wonders. Dampen a cloth with the solution, gently clean the area, and wipe off any residue with a damp cloth. Always dry the area thoroughly afterward. Always refer to the user manual for specific guidelines.
Some stains are too stubborn to handle on your own. In these cases, it’s best to consult a professional leather cleaner to avoid causing further damage.
Try rubbing the scratch gently with your finger. The natural oils from your skin can help blend the scratch into the leather, making it less noticeable.
For more significant scratches, invest in a leather repair kit. These kits usually come with fillers and colorants that match your leather or consult a relevant professional.
