FAQs
If there is a screen protector on your Bush DVD player but you cannot see a tab to remove, please follow these steps.
1. Use a screen protector/remover tool or something similar to peel the protector from the corner of the frame.
Note: Take caution and do not use sharp objects like knives as this could damage the screen.
2. Gently peel the film from the corner diagonally across the screen.
3. Continue pulling the film until completely removed from the screen, ensuring that it is removed from each corner.
4. The film is now removed.
If you experience any difficulties with this or require further assistance, please contact the Technical Support team using the contact details on this page.
Please watch the below video to perform a camera test on the remote using a smartphone. This will allow you to see if the remote is producing a signal.
If there is no power, check the following:
- Ensure the DVD player has received a full charge.
- Try an alternative mains socket and ensure the battery indicators are showing a full charge before use.
- Try an alternative charging cable if possible.
If the remote doesn't work, check the following:
- Try alternative batteries in the remote.
- Ensure there are no obstacles blocking the sensor of DVD player.
- Use the remote closer to the DVD player as you may be positioned too far away.
- Try the below IR test to check if the remote is producing a signal. If it isn’t then you may need to replace the remote.
If the DVD is not playing, check the following:
- Ensure the DVD player is fully charged and switched on.
- Check that the disc has been inserted the correct way.
- Remove any packaging that may be blocking the disc reading sensor.
- Check that the region code and disc type is compatible with your DVD player.
- Check that parental settings have not been changed on your DVD player.
- Inspect the disc for any damage.
- Try an alternative disc to check for issues with the DVD itself.
If the picture is distorted, check the following:
- Inspect the disc for any damage.
- Try an alternative disc.
- Consider the environment; if you are on a bumpy road in the car during use then it may jolt the disc, distorting the picture.
If the image is not full screen, check the following:
- Check the aspect ratio in the DVD player menu and adjust where applicable.
- Ensure you are watching a DVD which does display full screen. When viewing older media, the content may not be full screen so will not fill the whole image.
If there is no sound, check the following:
- Check that the mute button has not been pressed.
- Turn the volume up in case it has been turned down.
- Check that earphones are fully inserted and try alternate earphones if necessary.
- Try an alternative disc to check for issues with the DVD itself.
Some discs are programmed so that these functions do not work in certain sections e.g. during warnings or during display of legal information. Single chapter discs do not permit the use of skip function.
