FAQs

Please follow the steps below to extend your device's battery life.

  1. The standby time mentioned in the User Manual is only for reference. This time is measured in a laboratory environment: the devices battery is fully recharged, a SIM card is installed, and network signal strength is standard. If you install a SIM card, make calls, use the internet, send text messages, and use the device, all of these will consume the battery. This causes standby time to vary and be different from the time mentioned in the User Manual. This is normal.
  2. Battery performance or main unit power consumption may also lead to short standby time. In such cases, we recommend you take the device to the nearest repair service site for professional inspection and handling.

Suggestions for extending battery life:

  1. If you are just getting started with your new device, the new battery is not fully charged. Plug the battery adapter into your tablet and a wall outlet. It may take several seconds to start charging the battery. Let the battery charge until 100% charged.
  2. If your battery is completely discharged, it may take several minutes for the device to begin charging. The battery needs to charge to a minimum voltage before the system can boot up, and this may take a few moments to achieve.
  3. It is best to use the Lenovo charger that came with your tablet. Chargers have different output capacities, and a weak charger will take longer to charge your battery. If you are using the device heavily at the time, it may be possible for a weak charger to fail to provide enough energy to actually charge at all.
  4. During initial set up of your device, once you have added your accounts (Such as Google) your device will typically transfer significant data while it initially synchronizes your accounts and updates applications from the Play Store. Your tablet's battery may drain faster than usual during this initial session. After the initial sync, and a few charging cycles, your battery will reach its maximum capacity. We recommend keeping the tablet attached to the charger during the initial sync.
  5. It may take several charging cycles for your battery to reach optimum performance.
  6. When your device is turned on and you are charging, the battery icon in the top notification bar will show the charging indicator, which looks like a lightning bolt inside the battery.
  7. When your device is turned off, the charging indicator will be in the middle of the screen, which looks like the outline of a battery. You need to press and hold the power button to activate the screen.

How do I back up my user data? To back up user data, tap Settings (System settings) > System (All settings) > System (or Personal) > Backup & Reset. Tap Backup my data and select the items that you want to back up and then tap Backup.

How do I restore data from a system backup? Tap Settings (System settings) > System (All settings) > System (or Personal) > Backup & Reset. Tap Restore data from internal storage. Each backup data package is shown in the Backup List. To restore backed up data, tap a backup file and wait for the data to be restored.. (This step will overwrite your existing data with the restored backup) Note: When reinstalling an app, restore backed up settings and data.

Please follow the steps below to resolve Wi-Fi problems. What can I do if Wi-Fi signals are weak or frequently cut off?

  1. Check if you are in an area with weak signal. If so, try moving to an area with greater signal.
  2. Check if the web page you are trying to access is large (use other handheld devices, test signal intensity in the same area). Large pages take longer to load.
  3. Check if there are too many browsing history logs. If there are, clear the cache.
  4. Check if logging into the Lenovos homepage is also slow.
  5. Check if the device works normally after rebooting.

Please follow the steps below to update your device. How do I perform an OTA system update?

  1. Make sure you are connected to a WLAN, then tap Settings (System settings) > System (All settings) > System > About Phone (Tablet) > System upgrade (System updates).
  2. If a new software version is available, the device will prompt you to download and install it. Please do not power off or unplug your device when installing updates. A notification icon is displayed when System Update installs updates that will reboot or power off the client machine using scheduler mode.
  1. The Operating System may crash when the CPU becomes overloaded. We recommend users delete data to free up memory. This should improve the device’s stability.
  2. External interference may cause data errors when the device exchanges data with the base station. This may also lead to a crash. A crash may occur during calling, sending or receiving text/multimedia messages, and when surfing the internet. If this happens, please reboot the device.
  3. We recommend updating the operating system to the latest version to optimize system data and improve stability.
  • GPS, WLAN, WAPI, Bluetooth, mobile TV, etc. require a lot of power.
  • Switching networks frequently in an area where signal is weak may increase the devices transmission rate, which also results in higher power consumption.
  • System software issues may cause some programs to run continuously.
  • Any of these conditions may lead to the device overheating.
  • Check whether the device is used for playing games or watching videos extensively.
  • Running high-resolution games or videos uses a lot of system resources and raises the devices temperature. This is normal.
  • Check the device's version information.
  • You can either update the software to the latest version online or bring it to the nearest service site for professional servicing.
