FAQs
Clean the appliance after each use according to the User Manual.
- Make sure that the appliance is switched off.
- We advice you to remove the shaving unit from the shaving head and to rinse the area under the foil (hair chamber) at least once a month under the tap.
- Clean the shaver by rinsing the shaving head under the tap or use the cleaning brush. Make sure you also wash away any hairs that have collected under the trimmer.
- Clean the housing of the appliance with a damp cloth or under the tap, but make sure that the battery compartment is fully closed.
- Make sure the appliance is dry before you reassemble it. Never use abrasive scourers or liquids such as alohol, petrol or acetone (nail polish remover) for cleaning the appliance.
Make sure that the batteries contain enough power, if not change the batteries. Clean the shaver according to the instructions in the user manual and ensure that no long hairs are stuck under the trimmer.
Tip: If you use the appliance frequently, replace the shaving foils every year and lubricate them twice a year with a drop of sewing machine oil. If the appliance still does not work very well, please contact Philips Customer Care by calling 02079 490 240.
If your appliance pulls at your hairs try the following things:
- Do not move the appliance too fast through your hairs, slow down!
- Stretch your skin.
- Make sure that you hold the appliance in the proper application angle.
- Make sure that the appliance is totally Clean and free from hairs.
- When the batteries are nearly empty, the appliance may pull at a few hairs. If this happens, replace the batteries.
- Maybe you have to replace the shaving unit as it is not sharp enough anymore or the shaving foil if it is worn or damaged.
If the appliance still does not work very well, please contact Philips Customer Care by calling 02079 490 240.
If your appliance has fallen into water remove the batteries and let the appliance dry with the battery compartment open. After the appliance has dried it is ready and safe to be used again.
Shaving heads are subject to wear due to normal use and are therefore excluded from our guarantee policy.
Note: To ensure maximum shaving performance, we advise you to replace the shaving unit every year.
- To avoid irritated skin, ensure that your skin is clean, entirely dry and free from grease.
- Furthermore make sure that you move the appliance in the proper direction (against the direction of hair growth) and that you hold it at the proper angle (the shaving head should be at a 70-degree angle to your skin).
- Make sure that the integrated trimmer and the shaving foil are fully in contact with the skin.
- Do not press the appliance too firmly onto the skin, as this may cause skin irritation.
- Check if any part of the shaving head (or precision trimming head, if available) is broken prior to use and replace the shaving head with an original Philips shaving head if you find any issues.
- To relax the skin, we advise you to apply a mild and alcohol-free moisturizing cream immediately after or a few hours after shaving, depending on what is better for your skin. If you have very sensitive skin, a certain amount of irritation cannot be avoided. If the irritation lasts longer than 3 days, we advise you to consult a doctor.
Make sure you move the shaver against the direction of hair growth and that the shaving unit (pre-trimmer and the shaving foil) has full contact to the skin. In order to obtain the best results, the angle between the skin and the shaving head has to be 70°. Especially check if any long hairs have become stuck below the pre-trimmers. Apply a drop of sewing machine oil onto the shaving foil . The batteries may be empty or you have not inserted them correctly in the battery compartment. The pictograms in the battery compartment shows in which direction the + and - poles have to point. If the shaving performance still does not improve, it is probably time to replace the shaving unit.
