FAQs

If the printer is not printing, check the following:

  • Ensure the printer is plugged into the mains and the power switch is turned on.
  • Check that the toner cartridge and drum unit have been properly installed.
  • If your printer is wireless, ensure the printer and computer are connected to the same network.
  • Check that the printer is online.
  • If the printer is plugged into the computer, check that the cable is not damaged and is inserted into the printer and computer.
  • Check that the correct printer driver has been installed.
  • Check the LCD for error messages.

Check the instruction manual for the above procedure.

If the paper has jammed in your printer, carry out the following:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the mains.
  • Open the access panel, then carefully remove any stuck paper.
  • Check for any torn pieces.
  • Close the access panel.
  • Check that the paper in the paper tray is loaded correctly and avoid overfilling.
  • Plug the printer back into the mains and power on the printer.

Check the printer instruction manual for the above process.

  • If there is toner smearing on the prints, this can be caused by a defective toner cartridge. Replace the toner cartridge.

Refer to the instruction manual for this procedure.

If print quality is low or has faded text, try the following:

  • Power off the printer and unplug it from the mains.
  • Remove the toner cartridge, then shake it to redistribute the toner evenly.
  • Clean the interior with a dry, non-abrasive cloth and ensure there is no dust blocking the sensors.
  • Plug the printer back into the mains and power on the printer.
  • Use only high quality paper that has been stored in a dry place.

If the issue persists, try running a calibration and cleaning cycle from the printer's settings (check the instruction manual for this procedure).
