The Unified Daemon application supports apps for such topics as the weather, the stock market and the news. Data usage of Unified Daemon will be vary according to how often you have certain apps (such as Weather and Yahoo Finance) refresh. If you want to reduce data usage by such an app lower its refresh rate (None/1h/3h/6h/12h) in the settings. The less frequent the refresh rate, the lower the data usage for that app. (Yahoo Finance, for example, will use more data if it updates every hour than if it updates only every twelve hours).
