FAQs

If your Chromebook is not turning on, please check the following: 

  • Ensure the charger is connected to mains power.
  • Hold the Power Button for 10 seconds to force a restart.
  • Try a different USB-C charger (ensure the charger is rated for Chromebook use).
  • If the battery is flat, leave it charging for at least 30 minutes before trying to power on the Chromebook.

If your Chromebook is slow or keeps freezing, please try the following: 

  • Close any unused Chrome tabs and apps.
  • Restart the Chromebook to clear temporary files.
  • Check for ChromeOS updates: Settings > About ChromeOS > Check for updates

If your Chromebook won’t connect to the Wi-Fi, please try the following: 

  • Toggle Wi-Fi off and on from the status tray.
  • Forget the network and reconnect with the correct password.
  • Restart your router and Chromebook.
  • If using public Wi-Fi (e.g., cafés), ensure you’ve accepted any login page terms.

If the battery drains quickly on your Chromebook, please try the following: 

  • Lower the screen brightness.
  • Close any unused Chrome tabs and apps. 
  • Disable Bluetooth if not needed.
  • Check for ChromeOS updates: Settings > About ChromeOS > Check for updates

If the keyboard or trackpad is not responding, please try the following: 

  • Restart your Chromebook.
  • Check for crumbs or debris under keys.
  • Perform a hard reset: Press Refresh + Power together for 10 seconds.

If apps won’t install or update, please try the following: 

  • Confirm you’re signed in with your Google account.
  • Check that you have enough storage to install or update apps under Settings > Device > Storage.
  • Check that the Google Play Store is enabled under Settings > Apps > Google Play Store.  
  • Restart your Chromebook and try again.
