FAQs

1. Battery has run out

It could be that the battery of your nose trimmer has run out. To confirm this, perform the following actions:

 Switch off your nose trimmer.

Detach the trimming head and switch on the trimmer.

Is the motor running and pin rotating? If no, the battery of the trimmer has run out.

Reattach the head to the trimmer and recharge the nose trimmer.

While charging your groomer make sure you use the original charger which comes with your device. For further charging instructions please refer to the user manual.

Trimmers with disposable batteries

If you own a nose trimmer which runs on disposable AA batteries, it is possible that it is time to replace these. To solve this issue simply replace the battery with a new one. When replacing the battery, make sure that the + and - poles of the battery point in the right direction.

2. Cutting unit is blocked

If you have confirmed that your nose trimmer is charged, then it may not be working because it is dirty. Follow our cleaning advice below.

Switch on your nose trimmer and rinse the trimming head of the nose trimmer with luke-warm water. Then switch off the appliance again.

If rinsing the trimming head under the tap is not sufficient, immerse the trimming head in a glass with warm water for a few minutes. Do not put the handle of the trimmer in the water, as this can damage its internal machinery.

If this not helps, detach the nose trimmer attachment and soak this part separately in water for 8 hours.

Carefully shake off excess water and let the trimmer air dry.

For best results, clean your Philips Nose Trimmer after each use and lubricate the trimming head with a drop of sewing machine oil every six months.

If your skin feels uncomfortable after using your Philips Groomer there may be a few causes for this. Read our advice below to try and solve this issue yourself.

1. The shaving head could be damaged

The shaving foil of your Philips Groomer can wear down over time.

Before each use inspect the shaver head. If the shaving foil looks damaged or worn out, replace this immediately. To find out how to replace the shaver head of your groomer please refer to your user manual.

2. Tips to avoid skin irritation

Follow our tips below to get the best result out of your Philips Groomer and to avoid discomfort and irritation.

Make sure your skin is clean before using your Philips Groomer.

Always make sure your groomer is in full contact with your skin.

Apply gentle pressure and move the groomer slowly over your skin.

Pre-trim long or hard to shave hair.

Allow some adjustment time period and give your skin some time to recover in between grooming sessions.

You should charge your Philips Male Grooming devices when the charging indicator on the body of your groomer signals low battery. If your device does not have a battery indicator on it, then charge it whenever the groomer is working slower than usual.

Insert the charging plug in to you grooming device's charging socket. Make sure the plug's shape matches the socket and is completely inserted. Do not force it in.

The charging indicator on your device will start flashing to indicate that the groomer is charging. Once the groomer is fully charged, the charging indicator lights up continuously for approximately 30 minutes and then automatically turns off to save energy.

After charging, unplug the charger from the power outlet and the groomer. Your groomer is now ready to use.

For most groomers, normal charging time is between 1 to 8 hours. If you are charging your device for the first time, we recommend letting it charge for at least 3 hours. Check your user manual for specific charging instructions of your model.
