FAQs
Yes, Philips AVENT bottles can be stored in the freezer (except glass bottles) or can be used for pre-cooked food.
Provided the parts are in good condition, discolouring is harmless and will not affect the use of the parts.
The two scales indicating ounces are printed to guide both UK and US customers. Look for the abbreviation of your country to see which scale to use.
The bottle may leak for more than one reason. Following the guidelines below will help to avoid a leak:
- Check if the parts are correctly assembled and combined.
- Note: use always adapter ring with classic bottle.
- Check the dormal has not been too lose screwed on the bottle.
- Check if you are using the teat with the correct flow for your baby.
- Use the cap and check if it is placed correctly when shaking the bottle to prepare food.
Check the product or parts of it before each use. If any damage or crack is detected, replace it the product or damaged part. For hygiene reasons and safety, we advise to replace the teat/spout after 3 months.
To assemble the feeding bottle, follow the instructions below. You can also find them in the User Manual of your bottle and/or teats (also available online). Before first use, boil the bottle for 5 minutes. Before each use: closely inspect all items. Pull the teat in all directions to check for wear and tear. Throw away the bottle/teat at first signs of damage or weakness.
- Use the tongs to keep the bottle and teat as sterile as possible when assembling. The teat is easier to assemble if you wriggle it upwards instead of pulling it up in a straight line.
- Make sure you pull the teat through until its lower part is even with the screw ring.
- Massage the valve to make sure it's open, to ensure the anti-colic feature is working. For optimum performance, pinch and massage the number on the teat between index finger and thumb prior to a feed.
- Place the cap vertically onto the bottle so that the teat sits upright. For hygiene reasons, we recommend replacing teats after 3 months. Store teats in a dry, covered container.
- The bottles and teats are dishwasher safe. Please place the small parts on the top rack of the dishwasher.
- When washing teats with your hands, use only your fingers and warm soapy water. Avoid washcloths, sponges and bottle/teats brushes with bristles that may tear the silicone.
- The bottles and teats can be sterilised using a Philips AVENT electric or microwave steam steriliser or boil for 5 minutes. The bottles should be fully disassembled when put in the steriliser.
Note: There is no need to turn the teat inside out during washing and sterilising.
Note 2: Food colourings may discolour the bottle parts. This does not affect their quality.
