FAQs
If you wear braces, you can best use your Philips Sonicare toothbrush as follows. Make sure the brush head is placed at an angle between the brackets and the gum line. Using light pressure, gently wiggle the tips of the longer bristles between your teeth for 2 seconds. Then gently roll the brush handle so the bristles clean the bracket and the rest of the tooth before you glide the bristles to the next tooth. Repeat this until you have brushed all your teeth. Please do not force the bristles into gaps in the braces. Please note that all Sonicare toothbrushes may be used to clean around braces. However, our Mini brush head is especially suited for people with braces and other site-specific cleaning needs. It is 40% smaller than our Medium brush head and has a slightly longer neck.

Your toothbrush may sound loud if the brush head is not attached, particulary in Sensitive and Massage modes. However with the brush head attached, the noise level is normal. This change in sound does not affect the performance of your toothbrush. Place a brush head on the handle and turn on. This should alleviate the noise.
If the problem persists, please contact the Philips Support team by calling 02079 490 240.
- Toothbrush should be charged for 24 hours before it is turned on again.
- Please check if your charger works: Turn on the handle with a brush head attached and slowly put the handle into the charger base. If the problem persists, please contact Philips Support here.

Counters, shelves or any surface made of metal (for example, stainless steel, nickel, or iron) may interfere with the operation of the charger and prevent the handle from charging. Placing the charger glass on a different, non-metallic surface will allow the handle to fully charge. Be sure to charge your Sonicare for at least 24 hours before using again.

Yes, once you turn on your Sonicare DiamondClean handle, you can pause the brushing after 5 seconds of use. Before the 5 seconds of use, the handle will simply switch modes. To pause the brushing after 5 seconds of use, press the on/off button. To resume brushing, simply press the on/off button again and the handle will continue and finish the routine. Please note that if the handle is paused for more than 30 seconds, the lights on the handle will fade off and the handle routine will reset.
- First, make sure that your toothbrush is fully charged.
- Did you purchase your toothbrush within the last 60 days? If so, your Easystart feature may still be activated. The Easystart feature gently increases power over the first 14 uses to ease into the Sonicare brushing experience. If Easystart is activated, your brush may not seem to be as powerful as expected.
- The Easystart feature on your toothbrush may have been activated. To determine this, place the handle in a plugged charger base and press the on/off button firmly. If you hear one beep, the Easystart feature has been deactivated. When you use the brush in this condition the brush will be working at its full power level. If you hear two beeps the Easystart feature has been activated, and you will feel less power.
- If your toothbrush has more than one mode of operation, you may have activated a different mode with a different brushing action. For brushes with dual speed settings, the dual speed button may be at reduced speed setting.
- Old worn brush heads can also seem to be less effective or powerful in their rushing action. If your brush head has been in use for more than 3 months, it should be replaced with a new one. If the problem persists, please contact our Support team here.

Yes, it is generally safe to leave it on charge all the time. Most modern electric toothbrushes are designed in a way to prevent overcharging. Once the battery is full, the toothbrush simply stops drawing power, meaning it won’t damage the battery or overheat.
