Garmin GPS devices can acquire a satellite signal under heavy foliage. However, the quality and strength of the reception can be degraded. Several Garmin devices have high sensitivity receivers that enable them to acquire a satellite signal much faster than previous GPS antennas, and in areas where the satellite signal is degraded.
Since terms like waterproof and water-resistant can be confusing and interpreted in different ways, Garmin has manufactured devices with standardized water ratings. A description of these ratings as well as suitable and unsuitable activities for these devices can be found here.
Activities can be uploaded from mass storage devices to Garmin Connect manually by using a web browser on a PC or Mac computer.
To manually upload activities to Garmin Connect: Connect device to computer using USB cable Sign into Garmin Connect Click "+" icon in top right corner of page Click Upload Your Activities Click Manual Upload tab Follow on-screen instructions Once the activities are uploaded, they can be viewed in Garmin Connect.
