One For All Web SupportFAQs
The One For All Streamer Remote is designed to work with Streaming Boxes which can be controlled via Infrared (also known as IR). It cannot control boxes which can only be controlled by RF (Radio Frequency) or Bluetooth.
You can find this information in the manual of your device.
The One For All Streamer remote sends IR only. However there is a possibility that it could be controlled using an IR remote by enabling the CEC feature, but we cannot guarantee this as it is dependent on the functionality of your TV and the Streaming Device.
Yes, the Kinect was only an IR blaster, not a receiver. All models of the Xbox One still have an IR Receiver built-in, including the Xbox One S and Xbox One X.
Hold down the TV POWER and PLAY ICON (YouTube App Shortcut key) until the Menu ring blinks green 4 times. To re-enable it, repeat this process and the LED will blink green twice.
To delete a real time Macro, hold down the key the macro is programmed on (e.g. the N key) until the LED blinks twice. Then release the key and then hold the same key down again until the LED blinks twice. The macro is now deleted.
Once one or more keys have been learned, all of the keys that control the Streaming Device will make the menu ring light up in red. If you prefer another color, once you have learned all the keys you need you can change it using the Change Colour feature explained in the manual.
The colour change only applies to the keys that control the streaming device. If you have set up a TV, the keys that control the TV will make the ring light up in yellow, and if you have programmed an Audio device such as a Sound Bar or Audio Video Receiver, the Volume Up, Down and Mute keys will make it light up green.
Yes, it is possible to learn a function onto one of the App shortcut keys.
Your One For All remote control can learn any function from any other working remote control. This is a quick and easy one-time setup that allows to control any infrared controlled device you have in your living room. You can even combine multiple devices in one easy to use remote control – for example you could teach the volume keys to control your Sound Bar, the TV Power and Input keys to control your TV, and the rest of the keys to control a Streaming box.
To do this, firstly make sure you have all your original remote controls to hand, and that they have working batteries in. To learn functions, the original remote should be approximately 3cm from the OFA remote, pointing towards it.
To use the learning feature, please follow the instructions below:
- Hold down TV Power and Mute until the red LED blinks twice.
- Press and release the key you want to learn a function onto (for example the TV Power key) – The red LED will blink once and go out
- Press and release the corresponding key on the original remote, for example Power.
- The LED will blink green twice to indicate the key has been learned correctly.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each key you want to learn – remember you can learn from multiple remotes, but only one function per key.
- When you learned all the functions you require, press and hold TV Power key until the green LED blinks four times.
Additional Information:
- If the red LED shows one long blink at step 5, the function was not learned correctly, please try again from step 3.
- If you find one or more keys don’t work properly after set up, you can re-enter the learning mode at any time by repeating the procedure from step 2.
- To delete a learned function, hold down Streamer Power and Mute until the red LED blinks twice, and press the key to delete twice.
- If one or more of your original remotes aren’t working, you can still set up the One For All remote by SimpleSet (B) or Code Set Up (C).
- After Learning, default colour of the Menu Ring LED is red. If you would like to change this, see “Choose Colour”.
- Some remotes send commands differently. If you find a function cannot be learned, try holding down the key on the original remote instead of pressing and releasing.
Once one or more keys have been learned, all of the keys that control the Streaming Device will make the menu ring light up in red. If you prefer another color, once you have learned all the keys you need you can change it using the Change Color feature explained in the manual.
A long blink indicates that the remote failed to learn the signal from the original remote.
There could be a number of reasons for this.
- Make sure the original remote that came with the device is in working order, by testing it on your device. If it is not responding, it might not be working correctly.
- Make sure you are not performing the learning procedure under bright lighting or in bright sunlight as this can interfere.
- Ensure that the two remotes are approximately 2 to 3 cm apart, and that the transmitting end of the original remote is facing the remote. Sometimes holding the key on the original remote down for slightly longer may help, and conversely sometimes quickly pressing and releasing the key on the original works better.
- The batteries used should have sufficient power. Even though the remote works when using it to switch on and off devices, it might not have enough power to be able to learn additional functions. Please replace a new set of batteries
- It is also possible that the memory on your remote control has reached the maximum capacity due to too many learned or other customized functions. Please remove some existing learned keys.
- Some manufacturer’s remotes use a different signal, or infra-red protocol, that the One For All remote cannot reproduce. These are commonly signals that use a higher frequency. Radio frequency remotes cannot be learned from, because these signals are not infra-red based.
- If you have the OFA8 URC 2981 remote control, the learning feature is only applicable for the latest chip version R03.
To delete a real time Macro, hold down the key the macro is programmed on (e.g. the N key) until the LED blinks twice. Then release the key and then hold the same key down again until the LED blinks twice. The macro is now deleted.
