FAQs
Fill the kettle up to the MAX water mark and bring to a boil.
It is recommended that you fill, boil, and empty the kettle at least 3 times to clear the kettle of any tiny particles, metal or plastic taste and to give the rubber seals a chance to settle.
- Take up the kettle from the base before filling.
- Fill the kettle through either the spout or the lid.
- Fill to the desired level.
- WARNING: The water level must be between ‘MAX’ and ‘MIN’.
- Close the lid by pressing it down until it clicks into place securely.
- Check that the lid is closed.
- Plug the power supply cord into the mains.
- Switch to the ON position.
Note: The power indicator lights up.
When the water has boiled the kettle will automatically switch itself off.
You can stop the boiling process at any time by clicking the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position manually.
Note: The power indicator will go out.
If you switch on with too little water, your kettle will cut out automatically by the boil‐dry protection. Switch off, remove from the powerbase and let it cool down at least 15 minutes before re‐filling. When it has cooled down, the switch will reset itself.
You should descale your kettle regularly to prevent limescale from building up.
Here are some examples on methods to remove limescale:
- Use a shop-bought descaler to remove limescale by mixing it with water, filling the kettle and boiling your kettle. Then pour out the limescale to remove.
- Slice up some lemons, put them in the kettle, fill with water, and then boil twice to break down the limescale. Then pour out the limescale to remove.
You can read our guide on cleaning hacks for kettles here.

- First read the instructions in the section titled “SAFETY WARNINGS”.
- Before cleaning, unplug your kettle and let it cool down.
- Wipe with a damp cloth, then dry. Avoid using abrasive cleaning agents.
- Do not immerse the kettle, base, cord or plug in water at any time.
- Kettle, filter, and base are NOT dishwasher‐safe.
- Always unplug your kettle when not in use.
If the lid isn’t closing properly, check these things first:
- Check for any damage or debris.
- Check for any limescale build-up around the lid mechanism and remove.
If the issue remains, please contact the relevant support team by using the contact details on this page.
If the kettle stops before it reaches boil, check the following:
- Try an alternative mains plug socket.
- Check for any limescale at the bottom of the kettle and use a descaling solution to remove. A build-up of limescale can cover the elements and reduce its efficiency to boil.
If the issue remains, please contact the relevant support team by using the contact details on this page.
If your kettle has no power, check the following:
- Try an alternative mains plug socket. This will help work out if the issue is with the mains socket or the kettle itself.
- Change the fuse in the plug. You can watch the below video on how to change the fuse in the plug.
If the issue remains, please contact the relevant support team by using the contact details on this page.
If the water is cloudy, this could be due to a build-up of limescale. This could be on the base of the kettle or in the filter spout. You can remove this using a descaling solution.
We advise only using the kettle to boil water and no other liquids.
