Steam has condensed on the ironing board cover after a long ironing session.Put an extra layer of felt material under the ironing board cover to prevent condensation on the ironing board.

This problem may be due to below 4 scenarios: 1.There is not enough water in the water tank Fill the water tank beyond the MIN indication. Press and hold the steam trigger until steam comes out. It may take up to 30 seconds until steam comes out. 2.You have not pressed the steam trigger. Press and hold the steam trigger until steam comes out. 3.The appliance has not yet fully heated up Wait for the 'Iron ready' light to change from flashing mode to steady mode. 4.Calc clean has not been performed. Perform the Calc clean process. For more information on how to do this visit http://www.philips.co.uk/c-m-topic/descaling/descaling-iron#quickcalc If this does not resolve your issue, please contact the Philips Consumer Care on 0207 949 0240 or visit http://www.support.philips.com/support/
  • Your appliance has been designed to be used with tap water. In case you live in an area with hard water, fast scale build-up may occur. Therefore, it is recommended to use distilled or de-mineralized water to prolong the lifetime of your appliance.
  • Do not add perfume, water from tumble dryer, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids, chemically descaled water or other chemicals as they may cause water spitting, brown staining, or damage to your appliance.
The calc clean process removes most of the limescales and organic residues. If you use very hard water, it could happen that you still experience flaking. In order to improve this, perform descaling process more frequently and/or 2 times in succession.
The safety auto off function has activated. This happens automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity: Inactivity for an iron in vertical position: The steam trigger is not pressed. Inactvity for an iron in horizontal position: The steam trigger is not pressed AND the iron has no movement. The blue Ñiron readyÒ light flashes to indicate that the appliance is now in the safety auto off mode. To re-activate the appliance, press the steam trigger. After 15 minutes of inactivity time in total, the appliance switches off completely. To switchit on again, press the power button.
Water is converted into steam in the soleplate. When you press the steam trigger, it will take 1 to 2 seconds until steam is generated and released. This is normal. Keep the steam trigger pressed continuously when you move the iron over the fabric.
Impurities or chemicals present in the water have deposited in the soleplate, this can be prevented by performing the Calc-Clean process regularly. In order to resolve this please descale your appliance. You can find more information on how to descale your appliance by visiting: http://www.philips.co.uk/c-m-topic/descaling/descaling-iron If necessary, please repeat the Calc-Clean process. Make sure that you empty the Calc-Clean container before you start the Calc-Clean process.
The best results are achieved when using the steam generator in the normal (non ECO) mode. Using more steam by holding down the steam trigger more frequently whilst ironing should hep to remove more creases.

If the appliance has no power, try the following:

  • Try an alternative mains plug socket.
  • Try an alternative fuse in the plug.

Allow the iron to reach temperature and stabilise for 1-2 minutes if it has just been plugged in or has just been woken up from auto shut off. Also check you have set the correct heat setting for the garment.

If the iron has no steam or poor steam, check the following:

  • Check that there is enough water in the tank.
  • If your iron has an auto-shut off, check to see if this has activated, wake up the iron and allow it to reach temperature before using steam.

This is normal and is caused by water being pumped through the steam pump. The pump is controlled by the unit automatically to keep the boiler up to pressure.

If the appliance is tripping the electrics, try the following:

  • Try an alternative fuse in the plug.
  • Try an alternative mains plug socket.

Check the laundry care label of your garments to find the correct temperature to correspond with your appliance.
